Butterfly Table Tennis Blades
Butterfly's blade range runs from classic all-wood control blades through to the carbon ALC and ZLC builds carried by the pros whose names they bear: Timo Boll, Viscaria, Fan Zhendong, Harimoto Tomokazu and more. A blade is the bare base of a bat, so every model here is ready to pair with your own rubber. Many also come in a Chinese-style "CS" penhold handle alongside the standard shakehand build. Prefer something ready to play straight away? Our Butterfly bats do the pairing for you.

Buying guide
Butterfly makes one of the widest blade ranges in table tennis, from soft all-wood control blades through to the stiff carbon builds its sponsored professionals play with. A blade is the bare wooden base of a bat, sold without rubber, so you choose your own pairing to suit how you play. Want to compare against other brands first? See the full table tennis blades range.
Butterfly's pro-signature blades: ALC and ZLC carbon
Butterfly's carbon blades are built around two constructions: ALC (Arylate-Carbon) and ZLC (Zylon-Carbon), both adding a carbon-fibre layer for extra speed and stiffness over an all-wood build. These are the blades behind the pro-signature range: Timo Boll, Viscaria, Fan Zhendong, Harimoto Tomokazu, Mizutani Jun, Ovtcharov, Franziska, Lin Yun Ju, Apolonia and Freitas each have a namesake model built to match the blade the player actually competes with. Most are available in a standard shakehand handle or the Chinese-style "CS" penhold build.
All-wood control blades for a softer feel
Not every player wants maximum speed. Butterfly's all-wood and lightly carbon-reinforced blades (Korbel, Korbel SK7, Primorac, Falcima, Maze Advance and SK Carbon among them) flex more and give a softer, more controlled feel, which suits players who build points with placement rather than raw power. They're a natural step for anyone moving up from a ready-made Butterfly bat into a custom setup for the first time.
Butterfly table tennis blades: common questions
Both add a carbon-fibre layer for extra speed and stiffness over an all-wood blade. ZLC builds generally play a touch stiffer and faster; ALC builds sit slightly further toward control while still being fast, carbon blades. Both are used at professional level.
No. A blade is the bare base only. Pair it with Butterfly rubber of your choice, or protect the finished bat in a Butterfly case.
CS is Butterfly's Chinese-style penhold handle, offered alongside the standard shakehand version on many models. Choose whichever grip you already play with.
Start with an all-wood control blade like the Korbel or Primorac. They're more forgiving than the fast carbon pro-signature builds, which reward players who can already generate their own spin and power.
A blade is for players who want to choose their own rubber and fine-tune the feel. If you'd rather skip that step, our Butterfly bats come ready to play, including pro-spec blade-and-rubber combos built from these same blades.
