Table tennis shoes are built for stop-start lateral movement on an indoor court: light, breathable, and finished with a non-marking sole that grips without skidding. A running shoe, built for forward motion, doesn't give the same side-to-side control a rally needs. Table tennis shoes and table tennis footwear mean the same range here.

Performance table tennis footwear: Stiga Liner and Butterfly Lezoline

Stiga's Liner range spans the Liner II, Liner III Blue Edition and Liner IV, each on a natural rubber outsole for grip on any indoor floor. Butterfly's Lezoline line runs wider: the Unizes and Unizes II suit beginners on a grippy EVA/rubber sole, while the Gigu, Mach and flagship Levalis add thicker, shock-absorbing midsoles for longer, harder matches. Lighter, more affordable options for casual and beginner play

Not every player wants a full performance shoe. Butterfly's soft slip-on range, sized S to L rather than by shoe size, uses a breathable cotton-acrylic blend with antibacterial treatment that suits Australia's warmer months. It's a step up from an ordinary sneaker without a performance model's price or break-in, and a sensible start for a new player finding their feet in the sport. The range also includes replacement insoles and technical socks for extra comfort.
